Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) Guide and Technical Reference

Domestic hot water accounts for about 17% of energy use in a typical New England home. Replacing a conventional electric water heater or fossil-fueled water heater with a hybrid or heat pump water heater (HPHW) can result in substantial energy cost savings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This document in PDF format is a supplement to the HPHW Guide published by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (Mass CEC). It provides additional information useful to volunteer heating/cooling coaches and homeowners.
