We are a volunteer group that promotes adoption of low-emissions heating, cooling and related technology in our communities. Our group grew out of the HeatSmart Massachusetts program sponsored by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC).
Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient heat pumps in Massachusetts homes and buildings. We focus on air- and ground-source heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and weatherization as vital components of the overall strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. We accomplish our mission by:
- Educating and coaching homeowners, landlords, business owners
- Simplifying installer evaluation and selection
- Collaborating and sharing information with community groups and other like-minded organizations.
Many early Alliance members were leaders in the local HeatSmart programs in Arlington, Belmont, Carlisle, Concord, Hudson, Lincoln, Newton, Stow and Winchester, but we have grown to include members from other towns as well as a number of individuals with relevant professional experience. We welcome new participants from all Massachusetts municipalities and encourage you to engage with us.
