The HeatSmart Alliance (The Alliance) is a volunteer group that promotes adoption of low-emissions heating, cooling and related technology in our communities.  Our group has grown out of the HeatSmart Massachusetts program sponsored by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC).

Alliance members are from the HeatSmart programs in Arlington, Belmont, Carlisle, Concord, Hudson, Lincoln, Stow and Winchester, and from the towns of Natick, Sudbury and Wayland. We welcome new participants from all Massachusetts municipalities.

The Alliance’s focus is on air- and ground-source heat pump technologies and weatherization as vital components of strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from buildings. We provide resources for residents and community groups, about technology, installers and outreach.

Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient heat pumps in homes and buildings.  We accomplish this by:

  • Educating and coaching homeowners, landlords, business owners, and organizational leaders who own and/or maintain homes or buildings
  • Simplifying installer evaluation and selection
  • Collaborating and sharing information with like-minded organizations.

We host community events where we bring residents together with experts, installers, and neighbors who have heat pumps. We meet monthly, on the second Friday of each month, from 7:30am to 9:00am. Meetings are held via Zoom video conference. We also have several working groups that meeting once or more per month. See our meeting calendar for all meetings. We welcome new participants. Please Contact Us if you would like to join these meetings or learn more about our activities.
