Getting Started

Do You Want To …

  • Replace an aging heating system or air conditioner?
  • Add air conditioning?
  • Improve the comfort of your home with more uniform heating and cooling?
  • Reduce the carbon pollution produced by your home?
  • Decouple from fossil fuel costs that may be escalating in your area?

Here’s how to get started…

First, get a no-cost Home Energy Assessment from Mass Save® - subject to eligibility

  • Recommends steps for weatherizing your home, including air sealing, insulation, and new windows
  • Specifies the cost of each measure, the amount covered by Mass Save, and your final expenditure
  • Gives you the option of using any contractor authorized by Mass Save

If your community is not served by Mass Save, check with your municipal electric utility to see if a no-cost home energy assessment is available.

Next, request a no-cost heating and cooling consultation from Mass Save, subject to eligibility

  • Mass Save Specialists provide guidance on transitioning to a new heating and cooling system

For more personalized guidance, request a no-cost energy coach

  • Over 20 Massachusetts communities have volunteer energy coaches who are affiliated with the HeatSmart Alliance or another coaching program. Alliance coaches can help you become better informed about options that make sense for your home
